How do you attatch the third set of wheel weights?

When you look at the picture it looks like all the mounting holes are used to mount the second. How do you mount the third set to the second?

The first TWO sets are to be mounted using the same 4 bolts. (LONG bolts), and then the third set is mounted using the technique shown in the illustration for mounting the second weight.

sflem849, When you mount the 2nd set of weights you will need 4 bolts/wt in the original position turned outwards so the 3rd wt can be mounted.
IMO if to add more than 3 wts in this fashion... I would strip it all off and start over with 3/4
all-tread and use the original 4 holes that mount to the cast wheel on anything over 3 wts
My 966 has a single 900lb piece of aftermarket cast hung on the cast wheel with 4, 3/4 All-tread rods.
If you have questions Hollar @ me, 512-577-3837.
Hope this helps

I used a method pretty similar to that on my pulling tractor. I use two smooth rods for alignment and two all threads for tightening. They will work loose now and then though. Not that great for farming, but good for pulling.

Rusty, could you get that tune up kit for the B?

Original magneto, Delco distributor, or IH distributor?

IH H-4 Mag

I'm not sure I can justify sticking money into this one. I am $800 deep in it and it has some major problems.

The block was cracked and repaired. Now when I went to start it today it started spitting coolant out the exhaust.

The trans jumps out of third and when I opened it up I saw a few chipped up gears (that wern't third)

The rears are older and slightly cracked but very useable. The fronts are just tires.

The rear drawbar is perfect with new mounting hardware.

Could I part it out and be in the black? I KNOW if I fix it I would have a tough time getting in the black.

I did what John suggested. Just did it last week actually. I bought 3/4 inch (if i remember correctly) allthread bolts. (they are a bolt that has no head to wrench on, just thread from end to end) I put a flat washer on, a lock washer and then a nut, i then put that through the rim facing away/sticking out from the tractor, (put it in through one of the 4 wheel weight holes cast into your rim) i then took a nut and screwed it onto the allthread bolt, this leaves the bolt fastened securely in place to your rim, do the same for the other 3, then you can easily slide as many wheel weights on as you want, works really slick. If you have ? shoot me an email.

This is what I did on my SMTA. Youcan see the two smooth rods for alignment at about 2 and 7 o'clock on the weights. Then you can see the all thread and homemade wing nuts at 5 and 11 o'clock. I drilled and ran a hairpin clip through the smooth bar so they wouldn't push out when I put the weights on. It worked ok, but they would get destroyed and/or pushed out by the weights eventually.
