MTA overhaul kit

Hi guys

I want to have the engine on a mta I bought rebuilt. I thought I would let the local NAPA rebuild it. They have a really good shop and said they had done them before. They offered to let me buy the overhaul kit from a place of my choice. Should I get the kit or let them? Seems like it would be better to let them get it. What do you think?

The Tisco Kits on this site should be assessed for price, they seem just fine, and might save bucks. Comparison shopping with the blessing of the shop is great. Jim

If it were mine, I would put larger bore, and domed pistons. (Part No: BIFH1164) $422.67 Would be for pistons and short block rebuild only

or Part No: EOK1164A-LCB $622.13) For comprehensive including head. Follow the directions and call if in doubt.
The bearings are ordered by the machine shop doing the crank, it will always be different. The above is My opinion, Jim
