10 -20 mccorick deering cluck removal

I have a 1929 1020 McCormick Deering & the clutch is sticking. I am wanting to remove it, but my problem is how to get it out. Do you remove the belt pully housing to get to the clutch or am I not look at something simple?

Thanks for any help,
Joe

I'm sorry I misspelled in the subject line it should read as follows:
"10-20 McCormick Deering clutch removal"
Thanks again,
Joe

Well, I was going to say, "first, find the chicken"..........

sorry, I only own F series, so I am clueless on where to start on a 10-20.

This is what I remember as books are 2000miles away.

The clutch can be removed without splitting tractor or removing belt pulley. Remove large tank, support and sheet metal flywheel cover. Unbolt coupling piece (or something) in fly wheel area. Probably need to move the through out bearing some how. Clutch can be slided rearward off splines. Really tough to slide pieces if rusted as I recall.

Sorry if this is too fuzzy, 3 years since I did mine. Took 2 days remove due to rust.

i think you will have to put the 3 bolts in your presure plate and compress it to have enough clearance. i know the 22-36 is that way.

you can get to it by removing the clutch cover and the pto section. We took the entire clutch out without disassembling the tractor that we JUST put together. It is a bear but can be done.
