IH Super H Hydraulic Fluid Where to Add

Need to know what type of hydraulic fluid to use on my Super H. Got it from my dad, blew a hose last night. I have the remains of 2.5 gallon jug, but not sure where to add it. I"m sure I need to bleed the hose and ram when i install the new hose as well.
I believe the gear oil goes in the plug just in front of the brakes, but where do I check and add hydraulic fluid. I probably lost 3-4 quarts before I noticed the oil flume. Sorry about a stupid question. Just never added any to this.

I believe it is a pump running off the engine. I do not have to do anything to actuate the controls, just pull the lever. Not sure this helps, but I see nothing below the belly which may stick out.

If it runs off the engine it will be mounted to the back of the timing cover at the base of the distributor, I believe. If it is a belly pump it is a big heavy chunk of cast iron inside the clutch housing with three pipes sticking out, two to the left and one to the right, plus a fill cap on the top. This cap is sort of mushroom shaped and on the right hand side, as seen from the seat. I do not know where you fill the live pump system, however it does use its own separate oil, as the engine needs its oil for lubrication.

the vent valve is the filler cap. (the mushroomed shaped cap) you need a total of 6 qts. of oil. the same weight you put in the engine.
 
To add, the live hyd system has the hyd tank that holds up the gas tank. There is a vent/cap thing on that as well IIRC. I have a SMTA, but it is pretty much the same thing (maybe exact same)

I use hydraulic fluid. The book says to use non detergent SAE 30 with some magic additive, but they didn't have hydraulic fluid back then. Supposedly the additive turned regular oil into almost hyd fluid. ie anti foaming
 
If the reservoir is under the gas tank, the fill pipe is obvious on the left side of the resevoir, use Hytran or equivalent, fill until level with the bottom of the pipe. If belly pump, the mushroom on the right side of the torque tube is correct. Use 30 weight non detergent. With Hytran you are asking for leaks.

That part is true. It does leak out easier than engine oil. I just resealed my leakers. I figured it needed to be done someday anyhow.
 
There are two types of Super H hydraulic systems:

1. Engine-driven liftall - aka "live hydraulics" - There is a pump on the right side of the engine with hoses running to a cast iron block mounted between the "waist" of the tractor and the gas tank. The hydraulic lever is attached to this block.

Fill for this type of hydraulic system is on the LEFT side. It will be a pipe protruding out from under the gas tank with a mushroom-shaped cap on it. There is no way to check the fill level, all you can do is fill it to the top.

2. Transmission-driven liftall - aka "belly pump" - The pump and reservoir are mounted up inside the "waist" of the tractor, directly below the gas tank. All you'll see is what looks like a bracket protruding from the bottom of the tractor. The hydraulic lever protrudes from the right side of the "waist" of the tractor.

Fill for this type of hydraulic system is on the RIGHT side. It will be a pipe sticking straight up out of the "waist" of the tractor, underneath the gas tank. There may or may not be a dipstick to check the level. If no dipstick, fill it to the top.
 
Ok, got some pictures finally. It quit raining and not so windy. Will post to see if it help you help me.

1 Yes, thats where you fill it. If you dont have a dipstick, fill it until the hydrauilics work, maybe add a tad, like 1/2 cup more.
2. Thats the "outs" for the hydraulics, got one on the other side. Pump is driven off of trans, so if clutch is pushed down, it wont work.
