Working on a farmall A. Where is a good place to get engine rings. My engine has a 3 inch bore and my pistons are fitted with 3 compression rings 1/8 and one oil ring 3/16. The cylinder spec's at 3 inch and also what is the end clearance of the rings?

First things first, If you havent already get you an I&T service manual at a minumum. There are a number of places... YT is a good place. Quality stuff!

You should measure or have someone measure the sleeves for wear. You install a new sleeve kit and your rebuild will last many years. You either pay now or pay later. Hal

by the time and money, i found out, you mite as well get a hole engine kit. both money and time your saving.get the block cleaned , head checked and done with valves and guides with the crank done and new bearings, youll thank your self in the long run. check your clitch will your at it, cuz you will have it all apart. just did my 1939, and with all the help and nolidge on this site, you will make it thru. if i did, any one can.good luck. thanks again everyone. mark in iowa ( blunted ).

I just did a B over, same thing. NAPA had everything. rings bearings etc.About the same price as the catalogs but without the shipping.
