What make car should I look for for a small alternator that fits a farmall H and has an integral regulator?

The delco really fits tighter than I want.

I think the alternator you want is the Hitachi. From a Toyota or ??

You probably want a Hitachi 14231 alternator which came on the Nissan 1978 - 1980 model 620 and 720 pickups with a 2 liter engine. It will be about an inch or so less in diameter then a Delco 10SI and fits in the available space under the hood. Good luck in your conversion, Hal.

David, Yes it does to both questions. Send me an email with your email address and I'll send you complete instructions for installing on your tractor as I documented the entire process when I converted my H several years ago. My email is open if you want additional information for installation, Hal.

The wiring is the same as a Delco the #1 Delco terminal is the L terminal on the Hitachi, the #2 terminal on the Delco is = to the S terminal on the Hitachi. Jim

David, I got a "mail failure" notice from the notes I attempted to send you. It appears that since your email address is associated with a corporation they have a block on outside emails from unknown people. Unless you have another personal email address just send a note back to me with your street address and I'll print off my file and send it through the US postal service to your home. My email is open if you need it to respond, Hal.
