I wonder if anyone would trade a Red & white IH 300 Utilty for a 47 John Deere A slant dash?
JD need's a good home?
Thought I wanted a JD, and then found out that wasnt the case.
If anyone want's to talk about this or want's a slant dash A with powr lift?
then Email me ok.
sheet metal is good on A,
Nothing missing, and new muffler included.
newer Co-oP 13-6 tire's on back. and Co-OP tri rib tire's on front.
no wear.
the 300 dont need to be redone,
but hopefully just running.
Im not sure what the value difference is between a JD A, and a 300 Utility?
all it need's is head gasket I think.
would a 300 pull a 3-16 little genius?
this W-6 Ive got will.
I know that.

I doubt a 300 U will pull a 3-16's pull type plow very well. Not enough traction with those small tires.

If you are talking about a 4 section peg tooth drag, it should play with it in 4th gear. W used to pull a 4 section (20ft) drag with a C in third except in the sand and it would pull hard there.

A 300 "should" pull that plow, but after years of wear, it may be hard pressed to do it now. A 400 will play with a 3-16 plow in most normal soils.

I would also like to as that it seems more likely that your A would pull the little genius better then the 300U. The A would pull it in a lower gear weighted right depending on the soil. They both have about the same theroetical power (38 for the 300 and 34 for the A)

It would take a darn good pumped up A to pull a 3x16" (we pulled 3x14"s with JD 60s) and it would be all a 300 will handle in Farmall form, and it better have the TA tranny. A 350 would do better, and since you mention "red and white", I wonder if that's not what you want. 350s, in factory paint, had red and white on the hood and grill, 300 was all red sheet metal.

The 300 will pull a 3-16 plow... to move it around the yard!

Since you've got a good strong W-6, then don't worry about it. Do your tillage with the W-6 and use the 300 for whatever you want to use the 300 for.

Your best bet is to advertise the JD A and sell it for cash, then buy the 300. The odds of you finding someone nearby who has what you want and is looking for what you have are slim to none.
