I have my 300 split to change the clutch, would like to do the rear seal, it leaks a little. Anyone have instructions? The manualjust says it should be apparent what needs to be done! Does the oil pan need to come off? I can't figure out how to support the engine side (right now it is on a floor jack) and be able to remove the oil pan if it is needed to do the rear seal....

You don't have to do anything to the crank except replace the seal, you don't have to remove the rear main if that's what you mean. The pan has to come off because it bolts to the lower half of the seal housing. If you remove the flywheel it should be self-explanatory. You really need a splitting stand, particularly if it has a single or narrow front. BUT, on my Super H I removed the pan first, and placed a square bar under the block, supported by a jack stand on each side.

Make sure and clean up all the metal surfaces good with brake clean, then wipe them dry. I put a little dab of permatex sealers in the square corners where gaskets meet. I also glue the gasket to the pan before installation so it stays aligned. There are a bunch of small gaskets so make sure you get all of them ordered.
