i was going to put cletrac tracs on a farmall b, i decided it just wouldn't have enough power. i got the idea from the photos titled 1945
Farmall H Tractractor. i would like a t4 or t5 but they are hard to find. the 240 has the same appearance which i want, i don't want a large machine, and i like unique projects.
the question is is the 240 a good tractor, is it easy to find used parts, the reason i am using a cletras trac is it is easy to find parts.

not real easy to find parts for. when u do expect to pay decent money for them. not impossible to find parts just not always redily available

thanks for the reply, that is the answer i was expecting, what i like about the td4 and 240 is the grill nice clean squareed off look, do you know what model about the size and length of those that i would be able to fake the look with a grill from a 240.

If I'm not mistaken, the Farmall 240 is more rare than the International 240U... something like 3500 to 10,000. Some of the parts are common between them, and some are common with the 230 and probably as far back as the Super C, but the farther back you go, the less they are the same.
The basic tractor should be pretty good, but is outdated by the time they were introduced in '58. Main complaints I have are no live pto when most tractors had it by then, and only a 4 speed tranny. My 240U 3 point does not respond well, but that may just be my tractor.
