F-12 Brake seals

Since I am getting the F-12 ready to go to some shows this summer, I decided to reline the brakes. I ordered new seals for both the Brake shaft and the actuator rod.

Has anyone done this before with the shafts installed?

issues? tips?

Tom, The shaft seal is what leaks most times.
I have changed most I have ever taken apart.
Never changed actuator shaft felt, it seems to be high enough it doesn't get much oil on it.
Basic pull out old seal install new with greese on back side. oldiron29

I have a 1937 F12 that I will be doing the same thing. Both of the aux. shaft seals are leaking bad. Have not dug into it yet and was wondering what type of seal they are and if there is a cross reference for the Aux. shaft seal.

Solved the problem on a F-20 by drilling a small hole in the bottom of the brake drum cover to allow the slowly accumulating oil to escape.

Thanks guys. I already had the brake linings and rivets, so I thought while I have this apart, might as well do the seals. left side was not too bad, right side had lots of gear lube all over it.

I appreciate the comments.
