Looking to buy a IH 656. What is the significance of a model "F"? Also, was the 656 manufactured at the Illinois plant or was it made overseas?

Thanks

Gary

The model F is the Farmall row crop. There was also a Farmall High Clear (which was a Farmall equipped with rear drop boxes and a tall front axle), a International Uility, a International Row Crop Utility (which when first introduced was called a International High Clear) (it had the Farmall rear axles and wheels and a taller front axle than the regular utility but still had the shorter utility wheelbase), as well as a International 2656 Industrial. All of these were available in either gear drive or hydrostatic drive.

All of the various 656 models were built at the Farmall Works in Rock Island, IL.

Harold, thanks for the info. I"m looking for a used 656 to use for pulling a 7' to 10' rotary mower.

Thanks again,

Gary
