1850 IH loader

I have an chance to buy an IH 1850 loader that is on a junked out IH 454. can anyone tell me if it will fit on or work on my IH 504 WF without having to do a lot of modifications. It just seems to me that the 454 is alot lower to the ground than my 504. any advice would be great, Thanks

Don't know squat 'bout the loader or your tractors in question.

However, look at the lift cylinders when the loader is down on the ground on the utility tractor. If there is some 'extension' to 'em at the rams, it will probably work.

Point being, on the taller tractor, the loader will have to "lower further", if ya get my meaning.

Hi Bill, 1850 loader was designed for the 74 series tractors, 454,464,574,674. The 674 was the largest of this series and according to external_link the height of 674 was 91". A 504U would be a closer fit. The other problem was the 74 series tractors had a different bolt hole pattern in the torque tube casting than the USA made tractors.
The 1850 was a good loader, neighbour had one on 574 for many years.
