Looking up parts on line

Interesting changes and learning curve to get at the Case IH parts look up pages. Way different, Jim

So far I don't like it -- Too complicated at the moment, local dealer is not available on the site. I usually use Messicks to get an idea of the price. If I order it is usually from Carter and Gruenewald. There is a dealer 50 miles away that I can order from, but I would rather just phone the local dealer. Site is ok for people without parts manuals, if they want to jump through a few hoops. In short, the old site was better, at least until I take the time to learn the new one.

(quoted from post at 06:27:40 06/08/11) Try Messick"s site. Same info as IH I think plus prices included.

I think their site is harder to use than the CNH site. I do like that is has prices on it.

"I think their site is harder--" The CaseIH site has had MAJOR changes, look at it and I think you will withdraw that statement. But, you may like it --

It looked the same as normal to me, but I generally access it through my dealer's website. I will try to get there from the CNH site and see what it look like.

Messick's just didn't seem to be as easy to read to me. It was messy. It was nice because it would sub out some of the stuff or show pictures for some of the items.

Jim, Way different alright. I couldn't navigate it. Put in Farmall Super A and got something like No data available.
I was able to navigate the email link and sent a SOS email.
Sometime back I printed out many pages from the old site in anticipation of something like this.
Any one with the old hard copies of manuals better hold on to them. Our IH Collectors Chapter has a Bunch of fiche, but they are getting hard to read.

...

Just type in Super A and it comes right up.

I don't know what it was like before, but I would assume it was like the link that is on Triebold's website. The link is down and left. Might as well use that until it goes away if you like the old style.

The new one kind of stinks because it takes longer to load. Looks like the same basic setup as before just different spots to click. It is nice because you can order parts, pay, and/or get them shipped to the store. I kind of like to talk to real people, but some people like that. Not sure if you could check availability at your store.

It looks like they are trying to catch up with JDParts from what I am seeing. You can do all that stuff and more on their site. They even have coupons sometimes!

I tested it last night, and it was painful. I got to where I wanted to be, but WOW, what a change in navigation.

However, now that I know how to get there, I guess it will be fine moving forward.
