F-12 carb rebuild

I have two carbs that I'm working with. I just realized that they have different part numbers 29954-DB and 29953-DC.
By my book, and correct me if I'm wrong, the 29954 is a kerosene carb and the 29953 is gasoline. The only difference I can see is the venturi. Kerosene carb has a lot smaller venturi than the gas. Kerosene labeled 21 and gasoline is labeled 24.
I'm assuming it would be best to use the gasoline venturi. Is this correct? Also what other differences is there between the two carbs that I'm not seeing?

On both carbs there is a small brass tube that is connecting the lower and upper bodies. I can't tell for sure but I think it's the main air bleed. Correct me if I'm wrong. Anyone had experiance with fixing this? Any idea where I could get something to replace it?

Seth, the venturi is the main difference. Go with the gas carb. if you are never going to try kero. The little tub if on the rear (as the air intake face forward) should be a bowl drain. There are remains. for sale on EBay I never tried one. Kits to rebuild at Rice Equipment. I have cleaned and bebuilt my own. Not hard to do.
Now adjusting it thats a nother story. oldiron29

Seems like thats all thats different, but I also want to say the carb "bodies" changes some over the years, as in materials used, like all brass vs brass/steel.
