hi folks my h got stuck between gears. i was not there, my cousin took it because the tractor he was allowed to drive was out of gas. by the time i was told, they got it in neutral but it will go into 2nd and back into neutral almost but it will not got far enough for the stick to move left or right or even go into 3rd any suggestions aside from clubing my cousin would be great
 
I wouldn't be too hard on the cousin as it is a pretty common occurance. The shift lever end gets worn and the pivot points wear so it can jump out of the slots in the rails. Just take the welch plugs out if they are still in( use a sharp punch to collapse one and dig it out, then push pin out . Look down inside and align the notches in shift rails. You can pick up new welch plugs at most any auto supply store. If you want to repair the lever and pivots that is another story. If you shift carefully you probably won't have any trouble as apparently you haven't previously.
 
i have had it stuck between gears before but in the process of getting unstuck they jammed something and it will not shift .i have never had lock up so bad before
 
Pete is right on. There are pictures in the archives with dimensions, The pivot pin can be replaced by making a new one out of the shank of a grade 8 bolt of the right diameter. If it will not come out of gear, move the rtactor back and forth with human power on the rear wheels to un-jamb (take pressure off of) the teeth. Jim
 
Youre going to need to remove the shifter lever to line up the rails. Now would be a good time to build the end up some doesent take much. I have a B that will do the same need to redo the shift lever.
