786 axle bearing update

Chris got a manual and it says that the outer bearing is replaced by pulling the cap off the end of the axle housing. And that it says to replace the cap. I think he is reading it incorrectly. I'd have a look at it myself if it weren't for being a 1200 mile drive.

When it says to replace the cap it means to reinstall it, not to put on a new one.

Yes, "replace the cap" means put it back, NOT buy a new one.

That was my thought, and I tried to explain it to him. He fancies himself a farmer, and he probably already spent $250 on a new one.Probably another used one. I wouldn't put it past him and his dad. They'd spend the money on that, yet wouldn't spend it on lime so they can get more than one cutting of swamp grass off their land.
