super c sleeves

I think the Super C sleeves are too long for the C block as they measure 7-1/32" long. If you measure the C sleeves I think they will measure 6-7/8" in length and measure 3-5/16" in diameter at the sleeve seal. The Super C sleeves measure 3-7/16" in diameter. Hal
PS: Measure your old sleeves.

It depends. In a very late C block, maybe.

Super C sleeves should be slightly larger in diameter than C sleeves.

The best thing I know to do is to tear down the C block, remove the sleeves and measure the diameter of the hole where the "O" Ring seals at the bottom of the sleeve. That measurement will determine what sleeves will fit into the block.

If Gene B checks in, he can probably tell you exactly what will fit and what won't.

Any C (far as I know) will accept 3 1/8 diameter sleeves giving 123 cu in, same as an SC. Blocks with the part number 354898 and later will accept 3 1/4 inch sleeves giving 132 cu in.

With all the yrs gone by you never realy know if the block is original and just what bolck you do have. Its best to remove one sleeve get the measurements so you can order the correct ones its not the length its the dia where the o-ring goes as the length is all the same.

The confusion is that most C blocks had a small lower diameter on the wet sleeve spigot, where it fits into the lower crankcase sealed by an large O ring. The thinnest sleeve will make this engine 123CID. It is not the same as purchasing a Super C rebuild kit. Jim

"--354898 and later will accept 3 1/4 sleeves--" Not sure of the later as I have just read in an older post that the 130/140 230/240, etc are only 123's and will not accept larger diameter sleeves.
