Having a problem with Super C hydraulics

I have developed a problem with my hydraulics on my Super C. Everything will function just fine with no leaks as long as the tractor is running. But after it's been off for a few hours I will come back and there is a huge puddle of hydraulic oil under the cylinder on the fast hitch and now a large puddle under the touch control unit coming from around the boots on the shafts. This tractor has never leaked a drop and now has oil pouring out of it. But only when the tractor is off. I need some guidance here on this. Thank you, Paul Shuler

A cylinder that bypasses can push oil out of the compressed end over filling the reservoir, or pressurizing it. My mental analysis is that the cylinder is leaking both internally and externally. I would repair it first to see if the other symptom disappears. Replacing the shaft seals is not terrible. Jim

Thank you for your reply Jim. I will do what you said. I understand and can work on engines and do some minor transmission work but hit my limitations with hydraulics. I love this tractor and want to get it back up and running as soon as I can.
Thank you again,
Paul Shuler
ps Hope I can return the favor someday, but it is apparent you know way more than me so may not happen. Let me know if you ever need to know anything about MRIs.

I play with MRI and CAT scan data with a program called Mimic. We separate out Bone density data and print solid models of skulls. (I have a very nice facility at SCSU. Where are you located? Thanks Jim

I"m in Springfield MO. Well crap, I see your smarter than me about everything. Oh well, guess I can"t help you out with anything. I could give you advice on women but I know less about that than hydraulics.

Don't we all? :D
I worked on hydraulics for years, and spent many hours on a Super C like your's, but don't know much about the Super Cs system. However, Jim is right, fix the obvious first and maybe the other problem will go away. (The only thing I know about MRIs is that I can never have one due to the abdominal stent graft I have.)

I am only as smart as the experiences, and the material I read and work with. (I am also 62 yrs old and started welding when I was 9 or so. Every person that is not derelict is smart in differing areas. I believe you are just fine. From your posts and the clear way you express yourself I would not worry were I you. :) Jim

Paul, since you are fairly close to Monett you might take a trip over there to Fritz Implement the CaseIH facility there and talk to them. George who is in the parts dept. now has worked there next to forever and they have a vast knowledge of these older IH hydraulic systems. I had my complete hydraulic system rebuilt by them when I restored my Super C but doing it that way I didn't learn anything but it certainly works great. I had leaks everywhere before but not a drop anywhere now. Hope you can get this resolve quickly, Hal.
