Regular tank gas caps

There are 3 styles of tank lids: threaded flush, threaded with finger scallops, and the flange type.

Anyone know what years each type were used?

thanks cowman, I have the book. I scanned through last night, but didn't notice it. I'll look more closely tonight.

I need a starting tank, and my gas tank has the threaded flush one on it, so it would probably be best to get a matching starting tank. Found one with the scallops, but of course it doesn't match.

I saw the one with scallops. Go ahead and buy it.
Somebody will trade caps with you. (I would if I had
one but I think I'm out right now. We used two on
Whitey)
