Hello, I have a 484 tractor. The idiot light for the oil pressure is not working. it is not the bulb I have checked it and it works. It is supposed to come on when you turn the key and go out when the tractor starts. It was working until recently. I am afraid for the oil pressure. could it be the sending unit and how do I check?
Thanks Martin

Hi, the sending unit on top of oil filter housing should produce a ground when there is no oil pressure. With the switch on, take the wire off the sending unit and touch the wire to a clean spot on the block and the oil light should come on.

Had the opposite problem on a 684, oil pressure light came on while chopping corn. Scared the Sh*t out of me but sending unit switch was bad.
