I have a cub with a magnito,I have rebuilt the carb,It is getting fire to the plugs, but it will not even hit, this tractor has set for several years. What am I doing wrong?

An engine requires 3 things to run.

Compression. Do you have a fair amout of risitance when turning the engine by hand? Vlaves can get sticky in an engine that has sat.

Fuel air mixture. Are you getting fuel through the carb and into the engine? Try stating it, then pull the plug and see if you can detect anf gas on the plug.

Ignition. In a gas engine spark. Just becues the plugs sparks in open air where you can see it dosn't mean you have a good plug. Under the resistance of compression it may not work. So if you have fuel and compression try a new plug.

I would guess that for what little info you gave that you have a fuel problem. That is the most common problen with an engine that has been sitting.

Did you blow out all of the passages in carb with high pressure air?

Also helps a lot when asking question to at least give the make and model of the tractor and the make model and spec number of the engine.

Hold your hand over the throat of the carburetor and have a helper to try and start the engine. If you don't have good suction on your hand means
you have low intake manifold vacuum. You may have a vacuum leak at the intake manifold or at your carburetor. I would do a compression check to see what your readings are. Worn cylinders, rings and valves not seating properly
can cause poor compression and low manifold vacuum. Hal

quickest and easiest thing to check is the compression in all 4 cylinders. start there, if there is no compression, it won't fire.
