Amp lite on 1206

Amp lite came on 1206 few days later dead batt. Checked alt okay Replaced VR still no good only have 3 amps on field wire. Replaced new VR with used problem solved 9 Volts to F terminal everything works and checks out. Returned used VR from whence it came and bought a nother new VR. New VR #2 puts out the same 3 Volts to the F terminal on Alt resulting in being in the same place I started please

Sounds like they're giving you a 6 Volt regulator. You need a 12 Volt.

Go to a CaseIH dealer where they can look the part up on the computer instead of NAPA where they're just guessing.

The new voltage regs are from Case Ih and have all the same numbers as the old one they are the correct Voltage regulators

Check the wires going from the alt to the regulator, they run along the valve cover under the hood and tend to get bare spots and could be shorting out or broken.

Make sure that the grounding wire on the insulated regulator mounting bracket is making good connections.
