Hello! I have a 240 Utility that I am rebuilding/restoring. I was getting ready to prime the "frame" and was moving the tractor into position when I noticed Gear oil on the floor. I traced it to the oil seal on the clutch(left)side. I dug out my TC-53B catalog and found that I need part#360-076-R92. The diagram only shows the right (brake) side of the tractor. This is the brake petal shaft oil seal...am I to assume that the clutch side takes the same oil seal? I could'nt find anything for the clutch side in the catalog.
Also, What is the procedure for replacing the seal? It is evident that one wouldnt completely remove the shaft unless they are a glutton for punishment.
Thanks for your help!
David

If you will notice under the number required, it has a "2".

Yes, I see it now...I was focused on item #8. NOW I see item#10. Thank you, I just learned something new about this catalog.
Now, I just removed the seal on the clutch side...I had to gently drift the shaft into the case. I had to use a dremmel to split the seal and pry it out. I am hoping that the same can be done to remove the other side. To install the new ones, I think I'll drift the shaft to the outside, grease the shaft lightly and push the new seal on the shaft and then use a deep well socket and a small ball peen to seat it. What do you think?
