Behlen Road Gear on F20

I have recently finished the restoration of my wide front F20N. It is equiped with a behlen road gear. The seal on the input shaft leaks and it is a odd seal. It presses into the front cover and the rubber lip that contacts the yoke is quite long and cone shaped. Does anybody know a part number for this seal or where I can get one? Will a comon seal that matches the bore and shaft size work? I don't real want to pull the old seal out right now and destroy it because then I will be dead in the water without a replacement.

Go to a bearing house, They will either have or get the seal, or match a newer style to what you need. Better check your input shaft bearings also, the ones in my f-12 road gear are toast and the front seal leaked like a sieve.

Thanks for the reply. My bearings are good I've had it all apart and could not find any numbers on the seal. I do have a good bearing and seal supplier but I hate to pull the seal and get stuck without one.

Take it apart and go to a auto parts store and they can measure and get a new one within 24hrs as you have to take it apart anyway to replace. You would only be torn down two days

I have a Behlen Road Gear for an F 20. Need new seal on input shaft but can't get the big gear off of the shaft. We think it screws off but are not sure. Have been unsuccessful in getting it off by trying to unscrew it. Any ideas? My e-mail is [email protected]. Thank you.
