OT paint propane tank

My 500 gallon propane tank needs painted and was thinking of painting it white with some red farmall theme or decals. I am not real artistic and need some ideas. Thanks

It's not hard at all to do some lettering. Draw your outlines in pencil and then use a brush about the width of the letters you are painting. You can turn the brush sideways and trace along the lines. use wrist action and steady one hand with the other.

After the white paint, use blue masking tape to outline the letters drawn as Nebraska Cowman indicates. The tape pulls off easily after use. Use an old fashioned overhead projector to project an IH symbol onto the tank, then trace it. If that is not convenient, use the projector on a wall, and cut out the letters, then trace them on the tank. Jim

You could go to a sign shop for ideas and custom machine cut stencils or vinyl letters and figures.

Flames might look nice on a propane tank or maybe oversized graphic bullet holes. For something more bucolic, paint it like a Holstein with markings roughly like the IH trademark.

Goto to Google images and search for "water tanks". Might find something that catches your eye.
