A push rods

Started to clean up the push rods and the "socket end" (adjuster end) on some is severly pitted from laying in the bottom of the "basket of parts" it came to me in. Is there a way to polish the socket or will the pitting not hurt anything? I was thinking of takeing an auto push rod and chucking it in a drill and putting some valve grinding compound on it. Have any of you tried something like this? Or is new the only way to go?

Yeah I think that three are in good shape on that end, then at that, the other ends are junk... So how about that phone number? Email is cool if ya want...

i just rebiult my 39 a , and my crankshaft was pitted. couldnt find a new one, so i put her back in. i think if you clean them up with not useing a hard abrasive, it will hold the oil better, and last as long as the tractor will.
