Since I last posted I've got most of the tractor tore down minus the transmission. I believe I'll try to clean up as much as I can on the tranny until I get the motor running and back on the tractor. Then I plan to be able to drive it and hopefully flush everything out better.
Had my brother stop by this evening and helped me get the motor off the tractor and onto an engine stand. At that point I easily removed the last two pistons. Luckly I was able to save all four and they're in excellent shape. So if anyone is interested in a set of 3" bore M&W step head pistons I might be selling these.
Of course I couldn't stop so I soon had the entire block tore down and ready to remove the sleeves and do some major cleaning.
With everything looking to have very little wear I'm thinking the rod bearings will be well within clearance. At first glance they almost look new. Same with the main bearings. I'll get stuff cleaned up and fit back together to do a check on bearing clearance before I head to the machine shop.
