Which 706 carburetor and what does new one come with?

I need a new (or rebuilt) carb for my 706. My 706 was made in 1967, but I don"t have my serial number handy. The carb that was on it appears to be the wrong one? The metal plate is stamped "396198R91", but this appears to go to a 756.

There are 3 different carbs listed on ytmag.com for a 706. How do I know which one I need?

And what do the new (rebuilt) carbs come with? Do they come with the float, needle, throttle shaft, and the fuel shutoff solenoid, etc?

Thanks in advance for your help!

I just looked in IH parts manual and it shows 396197R93 as being used on both the late 706 with the C-291 engine and the 756. No 396198R91 listed. That doesn't mean there isn't one, just that I didn't see it. I guess what I am saying is that the 06 and 56 use same one if 706 has the C-291 engine which a 67 model would have. New carburetors would be complete except I cannot speak for the electric shut off.

Hey, thanks for the quick reply. I appreciate you looking that up. Sounds like it's not unreasonable that I have the carb that I do. It is in fact a C291 engine in my tractor. I just had new pistons, sleeves, input gear, camshaft, lifters, and some other parts put in it, so it's on it's way to running like new....just need a good carb.

So is there an advantage to using one over the other of the two carbs you listed? Should I stick with the same carb since that's what was on it, or would it make any difference if I put in the first one you mentioned that was common in the late C291's?

I can't find the number you posted so don't know what that number carb is for. If you are getting a new one I would get the one listed for the 706 with C-291 which is same as 756.

Ok, thanks. I'm picking one up tomorrow at the local tractor store that is a replacement for the factory original one you listed.

Thanks for all your help again, I appreciate it!
