H distributor

I am replacing the spacer between the motor and the distributor with a hydraulic pump. The distributor on my H had motor oil in it when I took it off, the spacer also had oil in it.

Will this issue be taken care of with adding the pump, or is there another seal I need to replace?

The pump will take care of it. Of course ,as I am sure you are aware, you need to take that distribtor apart to get all the oil out of it and put some chassis lube on the gears in reduction housing.

I believe that there is an issue of the H timing gear not being quite strong enough to run a hydraulic pump. Have you addressed that, or does anyone know for sure ?

I am planing to clean that out, but am taking one thing at a time apart, fixing it then moving on.
