I was picking up a few items from a woods and found what I think is a Mccormick 31 loader. I know the seals are bad and a large tree is in the middle of it. Is it worth buying from them? Also does anyone have any info. on it?

Thanks for you time and help

At the time it was built, the #31 was probably the best, most sturdy loader available, and if you can find one that has not been abused and is still functional, they are still a very good loader. The sad part is that the old #31 just isn't real versatile or user friendly by todays standards, and for that reason, they have minimal demand and/or value. Very nice examples will rarely bring more than $200. If you can buy it for less, go for it.

Does the loader look anything like this? I don't know if mine is a 31 or not, but I'm pretty sure it's an original McCormick loader. I like it very much and I also use it frequently, no matter what model it is.

Maybe one of the experts here will let us both know what kind of loader my H is attached to?

Here is a picture or two of my new 31 that I got last winter. I'm sorry for the poor quality, it was snowing when I took the pictures. I can get a good one of just the loader tomorrow if that will help.

Thats a McCormick 33 loader you have your H, they came out in the mid fifties. The 31 came out earlier and could only be used on a narrow front.

I can by it for $25.00 Like I said it is in a woods and the seals are shot and a tree growing up the middle of it but it is not hurting the loader. Thanks for all your help

Go for it. I'll give you $50 if you will deliver it. :)

Thanks for identifying my loader. I'll try to remember that I have a 33. The date you mentioned is about right for the year my H was manufactured. Maybe my tractor came from the factory like that? Was McCormick associated with Farmall at that time? I'll have to do some research on all of this, regarding the history of these loaders on Farmall tractors.

Its just what IH called there implement line, also the standard 'wheat land' tractors are 'McCormick's'. As for the year, it was most likely added after it was sold. The 33 came out in 56/57ish range. Last H off the line was in early 53.
