Super C PTO doesn't turn

Was running the mower today and the PTO quit driving the mower. The lever was engaged. The PTO and the pulley were geared together, but when in gear the pulley would spin, but the PTO wouldn't drive the mower.

Any ideas ? I'm just getting the manuals out, but I thought I'd ask here.

Twisted off the PTO shaft.

Let me guess... You were getting sick of shearing pins or the slip clutch slipping on the mower, so you welded it... Then you hit a rock/stump.
