loose C Pulley and timing gear

I started to open into the stuck C engine on my recent purchase. The first thing i noticed was a little play on the front pulley. When I went to remove the front pulley, I removed the set-screw and the pulley came off with little effort-no puller required. I pulled of the cover and noticed that the timming gear was loose on the crank as well. I thought these were supposed to be pressed on. Has anyone seen this? It seemed like the keys for the pulley and timing gear have plenty of play on the shaft. Does anybody know the propper diameter of the shaft in these areas?

thanks, jake

Sounds like someone had pulled them off and did not put them back on tight for some reason. Mine was very hard to get off. I was afaid the pulley was going to break. I even use heat to finally get it off. Sorry I don't know the diameters.
