464 price

I am going to be looking at a 464 diesel and am wondering if this is a good tractor to have as I don't know much about them. It is said to be in good shape with everything working as it should with good tires. Asking price is $3500. Is this a fair price for a tractor of this size and age? Is there anything I should be looking for or at when I go to see it?

That is a really good price on that tractor. I have got one, and it is a really solid tractor. The hour meter on mine has been broken at 15,299 for as long as I can remember. Plus, it gets really good fuel economy. It will use 1-3 gallons per hour. That is very good for a 45 horsepower machine. When you go to look at it, ask and/or look at:

1. The transmission. Has it ever jammed up?
2. The injector pump. Does it leak?

Those are the main 2 right now. Drive it around, but be easy when shifting. It has a tendency to lock up in gear. Nevertheless, it is still a great tractor.
