Where to buy?

I need a new overrunning clutch for my Super M. The one we'd been using has a stripped out zerk hole so the grease gets slung all over.
I can't remember where I bought that one, it was around 10 years ago.
Dad would run the tractor without one (its not too bad now that we fixed the brakes he says) but I prefer not getting pushed...

The ones at TSC seem expensive at almost $80. Seems I paid half that...

Nothing is cheap anymore. $80 seems fair to me, considering the price of everything else.

Ain't that the truth!

Seems like ya gotta take out a second mortgage just to buy a little sack of popcorn these days. :>(

The easy way is to use a thread repair kit to make it new. An insert type is probably the beas, though helicoil will also work. Pack the hole with some plastic bag material so the chips can be pulled out with the plastic. If not somthing you want to tackle, it would cost ~$20 at a repair shop. An alternative is to put new grease in the hole with an injector rubber tip, then hold a plug in the hole with a hose clamp.

The hole goes all the way through, I wonder if I did the insert with it on the tractor if I could pump grease through the other side enough to flush the chips out...

$80 is too much. I can get you a basic model rated for up to 75 horsepower for under $50. The fancier model is still under $70.

Drive the roll pin out the other side. Remove the ORC from the tractor. Take it apart by removing the internal clip. Drill the stripped hole out and tap it to 5/16 fine thread. Cut a bolt short so that it won't drag on the inner portion of the ORC. Reinstall the inner and outer portins, put it back on the tractor, install the new short bolt. Put a grease fitting on the other side, grease it and for get it for another 10 years.
