450 Tach drive set up

I am putting a tach on my 450, was ordered as a delete from factory. I have the tach drive delete cover under the distributor now. Is it as simple as removing the cover and adding the tach drive gears in there, or is there more to it?

Yes, just plug in the die-cast cartridge with integral shaft and gear. There are three different types but they all work. New tachs can be had for $50 on eBay. Painted bezel, early one's were shipped that way. Cable might be $30. The tach drive will be the hardest to get. Don't think they are being reproduced or restocked by IH. May have to buy the cartridge and cast iron housing as one item on eBay. Any will work. I have purchased two from 140's that fit my 400's.
