Farmall Super C

I recently bought what I thought was a Farmall C, from a guy but after I got the tractor home I checked it out closer and it turns out that it is a Super C, I thaought that was pretty good, and it runs like a top, This is my first Farmall, Now I see why you guys like them so much. Was the Fast hitch an option on these tractors or was it standard?

Fast hitch was standard from about 1954 on (consult someone like Guy Fay to get the exact dates and serial numbers). Models before the fast hitch did not have a rear remote or rear cylinder. After 1954 any SC or 200 etc. not having fast hitch would have been a special order.

The 2 point fast hitch was always an option on the Super C. My Super C is a 1953 model with all the casting codes in the June and July 1953 time frame and it came with an original factory fast hitch. I believe they could be installed later on any Super C but I don't have a clue what the first one with the fast hitch was from the factory, Hal.

Fast hitch was a option in 1953. I think mine is an april 53 tractor. I've got an 8 or 10 page IH instruction manual somewhere around here that has the 2 or 3 different kit part numbers with the pictures and instructions for installing on the earlier tractors.

Man, I spent many hours on that exact rig when I was in high school!! (1956 to 1960) Same plow and front and rear weights on the SC.

Where does your info come that the fast hitch was standard we would like to know even the hy system was an option or havent you ever seen a SC without hy.

The fast hitch was an extra cost option for ALL tractors. It was never considered to be "standard" equipment.
It may have been an option, but I'd bet [u:d57db78438]almost[/u:d57db78438] all the later SCs and 200/230s were ordered with Fast-Hitches by most dealers. When Dad bought his SC in about Mar. of 1956, the dealer had this new carry-over SC and a few 200s and all had F-H. The C-SC-200s were very popular in our area (NE Iowa) because most farms at that time were 80 to 160 acres and those tractors were the absolute best 2 row planting and cultivating tractors made. I don't remember many SCs and 200s that did not have a Fast-Hitch... that was a very big selling point.
