restoring farmall 100

I am working on restoring a 100 and the grill is bent a little. I removed thr grill and in process, broke a few of the phillips head screws that mount it on. Where can I find small parts such as OE screws and clamps? And any other advise on the restoration would be appriciated. It is all original at the moment with 6 volt positive ground, regulator, and generator. For restoration purpose is it better to stay with this system or convert to electronic ignition and 12 volt?

If you want to 'restore' it, then keep it original. About 5 years ago I convereted my 100 to 12 volt, totally reqired and an electronic ignition. BEST decision I ever made. I'd do it again in a heartbeat.

Personally, I would leave the tractor with a 6 volt system. Number 1, it is original, and therefore more "collectible". Number 2, I have never had any real trouble with a 6 volt. If you park the tractor near an electrical outlet, you can hook a battery tender to it. They have always worked great for me. I can start my 6 volt 140 in 20 degree weather as long as the battery has been maintained by a tender.
Good luck, SF

I'm not sure where to find the screws you need, I would leave it original 6v,I have a 100 and love it, mine starts and runs fine on 6v, has for about 55 years. Good luck with it.

cap screw is part # 362593r91, nut with the metal clip to hold it in place 362594r91

A hot 6 volt battery, new-large battery cables, and a starter that has been serviced -- and my 100 on 6-volt will start as fast as my 200 which was converted to 12 volts. The trick was to have the starter serviced with new bushings & bendix

McMaster-Carr, has the truss head bolts. I used the SS ones on my 450. very pleased a box of 10 or so is around 5 bucks. They also have the internal lock washers as well.
