F-12 Oil Pressure

The oil pressure on the F-12 that I just finished is low - just above the red area.

Where should it be? Is there some adjustment to the springs below the oil filter that would raise it?

I'm assuming you still have the original oil pressure gauge. And that might be the problem. Those old gauges weaken with age. Try a known good gauge first to see if you do in fact have low oil pressure. Some things come to mind. Did you install new cam, rod, main bearings? That should have brought the pressure up. You could try a new spring in the regulator in the oil filter base. Just some ideas.

My rebuild F-12 gives 80psi cold; 40 hot; 20 hot at slow idle 400rpms. I have had f12's that at full trottle 20psi cold, and nearly none at idle. In some cases it is a stuck or clogged oil pressure relief system, whil others the tractor was just plain worn out. I have one tractor that had 30psi cold; 5 hot, and when I rebuilt it O found nearly .015 in the mains.
