I have a farmall a that will only stay running when the choke is fully set. It has no power when operating. Any ideas?

Is your spark good?? Is it a good blue white and will jump a 1/4 inch gap?? Do you have a good steady flow of gas from the drain plug at the bottom of the carb and does it flow for a good 5 minutes. Yes catch the gas so as to make sure it is clean and has no water/dirt in it

fuel delivery sounds like your issue. clean all the components of your fuel system. that would include screen on the sediment bowl, check inside the tank, and make sure the inlet to the sediment bowl isn't plugged or restricted. Sounds like you have crud or varnish somewhere. IF the main jet is plugged or restricted, same answer.

Clean fuel delivery components and rebuild the carb.

Only other thing it MIGHT be is a leaking intake manifold gasket.

Try these things and tell us what you find. And don't be intimidated by a carb rebuild if you have never done one before. The carb for the C-113 (A, B, BN, C) is one of the more simple ones.

tom and old are both rite. also if you dare, remove th valve cover and check the torqh on the head bolts, and vave clearance. manifold nuts can be loose too. mark

Have a 45 that did the same thing. If you has a
M/S carb. on it the main jet is clogged, the jet itself is non removeable give it a good cleaning good luck.

I have pulled the sediment bulb, cleaned the tank and carb., checked for air leaks where the carb. mounts to the manifold. I think I will pull the carb. again and reclean the jets. My "46 A has survived heat, cold, famine, and flood I hope it will also survive a girlfriend putting sugar in my gas tank. Thanks for the help.
