300 Utility clutch replacement

Need to replace the clutch since the gears chatter a bit when shifting out of neutral. And I can hear/feel it slip when digging into a solid dirt pile. I am not a perfectionist rebuilder, just want it to work. Two questions:

1] Must I assume that the pressure plate needs to be replaced? What should I look for when I get it out.

2] As a novice, what else should I ask before starting this job? Thanks.

Look for oil or excessive wear on the clucth disc, but best bet to replace all of it including the throw out and pilot bearing and maybe your rear engine seal very easy to replace it while engine is out.better to do it right the first time and save alot of trouble later and have your flywheel resurface to have a good surface for it to grip on.Good luck to you

I will add to Danny's info/
The TA clutch could be changed at the same time. Replacing the TA one way clutch at the rear of the TA is also good preventive maintenance. It ,ight not have a TA, but most did.
The Flywheel has a step depth between the Pressure Plate mounting surface, and the friction surface.
Make sure that is in specification when machinind the Fly Wheel. Jim
