The ole H is in need of new bushings in 5th gear it has the death woble so I found a complete top bolster that came off a tractor that had a wide-front end most of its days it seams good and thight. My question is ..... can i safely block up the tractor say around under the bell houseing-belly pump and remove the hood, stering shaft, nose sheet metal, drain and remove the rad, lower bolster, Then try to remove the upper bolster with out the engine falling in the fram fails or looseing them???? I know the upper bolster is heavy I can use my "cherry picker" to lift it ok just wanted to know how you all would do it
Thanks

Yes. You can loosen the frame rails a little and the front bolster will slide right out of the frame rails. I have mine off right now. All you have to loosen are the 4 bolts that go into the front sides of the engine. I supported under the clutch housing.

I just pulled the bolster on my H, and it is HEAVY. It is not bad to pull, but will be rusted into the frame. It is a two man operation for sure.

i left my bolster in place when i rebuilt mine. it took 3hrs with a few homemade bushing drivers, i thought is was going to be a big deal, turns out it was not that bad. good luck

I left mine in place during the rebuild also. I just have it off now to work on the front of the motor.

Do not try to support it under the pan, I made that mistake as it will bend the bottom of the pan. I will fix that when I go through the motor in a couple of years.
