1951 SC Hydraulic Pump

Hello all,
I bought a used hydraulic pump for my super C and I want to replace the seal before I put it on the tractor. My problem is that I don"t know how to get the old one out. I can't find it in any of my manuals. Do you dismantle the pump? If so, how does it come apart? I don"t want to break it before I even get to use it, so your help is appreciated.
Thanks
Gary

Just like most of this old stuff, it was meant to be repaired, not just replaced. Remove the bolts that hold the housing together and split the pump. Check the shaft for wear; it may need a speedy sleeve installed. I think there are 3 o-rings, its really self explanatory when you get the pump apart. When mine went bad the local IH dealer was little help in getting the gaskets. I am lucky enough to have a hydro shop in the neighboring town. He looked at it for 2 seconds and went into the back room and came out with the seals. Really nice to have a place of business that doesn't rely solely on computers! Cost was around 10 bucks and life is good again.

Here's a parts breakdown on the Pesco pump. Hal
PS: Item No11 may have a groove from the old seal.
