need Ohms law advice...

i have a 8 volt battery, and a 6v/12v charger. charging the 8v batt with the 6v setting will never really juice it up to full potential, and i'm pretty sure i can't use the 12 volt setting.
is there a resistor or something i can put into the cable to perhaps charge the 8v batt on the 12v charger setting?

You can charge your 8 volt battery on 12 volts but it will still only put out 8 volts. Shouldn't hurt it if it's on a low amp rate and you keep an eye on it. The thing to look out for is if it is boiling out the acid from too "hot" of a charge. remember a car alternater may charge at 14 to 15 volts for a 12 volt system and that is normal.

If you are using the basic 6 to 10 amp charger, connect a digital voltmeter while charging and don't let the voltage get over 10 Volts.

put a 12v sealed beam headlight (most convenient way) in series with the charger and the battery. charge on 12v. Read this years ago on here.
