I need to explain a little better then my previous question did. When I change position of the levers and the arms get to there position the motor still seems to be under load and it doesn't take long for the pump to get real hot. It's like the relief valve might be stuck or something is not letting the hyd. pressure to drop back to a lower PSI.Anyone have any ideas?Thank you all in advance. On the left side of your hyd. pump , right where the drain hole is , is a cover with 4 bolts on it .First drain the oil out of the hyd. pump . remove the 4 bolts and pull out the strainer . Strainer is a very fine mesh . Mine was stopped up . I replaced strainer . Hyd system works like a champ. I tried washing mine but it was so old it came apart and I had to replace the strainer .
Sounds like the hyd. pump is starving for oil .
Another thing to check , make sure the rocker arms are well greased , two grease fittings one on each side of tractor .
Hyd. pump starved for oil will get the pump hot very quick .Motor will act as if under load .

I think GriffNC meant on the left side of the touch control hydraulic unit/tractor, below filler hole. You may be right about relief valve. Also, make sure the linkage is fine between control spool and actuating piston rod. Does it do it in both directions of movement, in any position or just at extremes and on both spools? Maybe one just got out of adjustment.

Mel,
Do an Internet search for:

Farmall Touch Control Blue Ribbon Service Manual

It'll tell you how to find your problem.

It does it in both directions.I was able to get a touch control service manual of the internet so maybe that will help. Thanks for your help. Mel Thomas
