Super C Quit

I started my Super C and it was running fine. All of a sudden it just quit and I can't get it started. What should I check? I took the gas line off at the carburator and there is gas at that point.
 
Take your drain plug out and make sure you have gas inside the carb. After this, take a ball peen hammer or equivalent and tap the side of the float bowl in the carburetor. If that doesn't do it, then make sure you have spark where and when you need it. This means checking plugs, wires, breaker points, and anything else in that system. If you still can't figure it out, take the carb apart and make sure the float is not stuck and there is no crud in the jet. First blow it out with an air compressor, then soak it in carb cleaner, and finally blow it out again before reinstalling. While you are in the carburetor, go ahead and check the gaskets and clean it up real good.

Does it have a distributor? I had this happen the winter, checked everything -gas flow,spark,voltage to dist,coil. Found that the gears in the dist had jumped a notch or two due to worn gear, changing the timing. Bought replacement gears from Mark's Magneto in Rice,MN (he has them made) -after reassembly with proper settings -end of problem, she started right up.
Took a week or so to get it figured out during the cold winter. The tractor stopped while plowing snow.
 
With the switch on, check for power at the coil with a test light. If none (be sure the test light has a good ground) pull out the switch and watch the amp meter. If it doesn't jump and go to discharge, the switch is bad. When I painted my 230, I put a new switch in and a year later the tractor just died one day. Found that when the switch was pulled way out it was dead but if I pushed it in just a little it would work. Lucky I saved the original 50+ year old switch which I put back in.
