Hi all, My ol 51 H has been purring like a kitten, same for my 35 F-12. My 48 M is a little ill with a bad knock in the engine and havent had time to look at it yet. Been fiddling with another type of ancient 4 cylinder the past couple years. I picked up a 21 Chevy touring car, a 28 Chevy 2 door, and a 28 Chevy 1 ton farm truck. both 28s have less than 39K miles and the 21 has only 15K. With all the rain and flooding here in west central Indiana, I may have some washed out culvert and road fixed by a farmall" storys coming soon!( If the creeks ever go back in the banks!)

Sounds like you found a few gems. And a new hobby.

Farming in SW Michigan is at least a month behind. We had an easy dry spring melt but then the rains came and more to come.

Bob Kerr; good to see you back on. Did ya get anything 'put up' last fall? I always enjoyed seeing and reading about that fall activity. Enjoy those old finds.

About the only thing I got put up was a huge white oak tree into firewood. Tree was about 7ft in dia at the stump. Absolutely massive! Thank God I had the saginaw 3 point on the H. I hauled load after load out of that ravine. Things were too dry last fall to do a lot of stuff with the fire danger in the woods so high. I was afraid to even bushhog for fear of setting the woods on fire from sparks. Did drag out a problem area of a creek bed where gravel was building up in front of a culvert. Creek bed was powder dry 4 feet down in the gravel bar!

That looks a lot what we have going on here right now. I went to Evansville yesterday on the Ohio River and it is really flooded bad down that way! Didn't really find a new hobby, just got really good deals on cars in good shape. My Dad still has several cars and trucks from the 20s he has had since before I was a sprout in hid garage. A 21 Chevy he got back in the early 70s was the first car I ever worked on! My 21 will be in Dundee, MI and then Flint MI this June for Chevys 100th. I have been driving my 28 Chevy 2 dr as a daily driver lately. Fun car and can still find parts easy enough. I even raced it at the Newport Antique Auto Hill Climb in Newport Indiana last fall and got second place in class. 28 Chevys really idle smooth and you can get them to run a lot slower than a farmall will idle down. I almost think I can write my name on the fan belt as it runs! Newporthillclimb.com has some pictures of my 23 Oldsmobile 1 ton grain truck and on their facebook page, there are some videos of my 28 and my other cars going up the hill. That weekend is almost worth leaving corn in the field for!
