IH 254 Plow Bottoms?

Yooper; Yes, it does just fine. I have a JD Model 812 2-bottom plow, with the adjustable depth wheel. I set depth for about 6" nowadays. My hitch is by Cross Manufacturing Mindenmines, MO. This combination would NOT work until i studied on it and realized the plow was skewing all the way over to the left. I installed a turn-buckle, to hold the plow to the right 14" away from the right wheel. As same as most tractors have turn-buckle arrangements on their 3-points. Adjust the top-link so she runs level fore-and-aft, and she zips right along.

(quoted from post at 08:13:51 04/28/11) My 1950 H pulls that size plow all day long, and humms right along.

So, what's the relevance to that, and my question?
(There is a need of a Sarcasm Font some times... )

Walt; Sorry, all I was trying to say was that my old 20-hp tractor will pull 2 14" plows. It is unusual, and I was answering Yooper to tell him how I figured out how to do it.
Sorry.

My 1962 140 pulls 2-14 in second gear, so I would think that a 254 could do it in first. Of course, isn't that model one of the Japanese models? If so, you may be better off with a 2-12.

A Ferguson 2/14 moldboard I have.
Farmall 140 specs show, PTO 21, Drawbar 17HP, tested 21.25HP, "Plows 1"
IH 254 specs say; Engine 24, PTO 21HP
I cannot find any Drawbar or Plow Data on the IH 254.
The IH 254 is a Jap. Mitsubishi 3Cyl Diesel.

I have a chance to buy an IH 254 to rest my tired '52 IH Cub 1/14 2Way, but if the 254 won't pull a 2Bottom, why bother. I have a '54 Fergie TO30 that's out of commission as develped bad crank bearings this spring.

Anybody out there pulling 2/14 with an IH 254?
