cub air filter

Trying to get the wire air filter out of the canister on a cub,do you have to tare the thing up to get it out? I have the whole thing off the tractor but not having any luck, soaking it in p b blaster now. thanks for your help. Did not want to get to rough with it.

No, they don"t come apart. don"t remove the metal mesh, in it will ruin it. Soak it good in kerosene, let it drain out. Dave F.

Why take it out it can be cleaned many ways solvent,soapy water,vinegar,steam. If its rustry the vinegar will do a good job.
