I'm just beginning a Farmall H resoration and decided to start at the rear and work forward. I removed all of the bolts for the deck covering the differential and wanted to know if there was a special way this cover needs to come off so that nothing happens to the gears below. Is it just a straight pull up or something other? I have above average mechanical ability, but I'm not a mechanic if that makes sense. Unfortunatley, I may be getting out of my skill set very shortly. Thanks! Greg
 
Pull straight up. If you work alone an engine hoist is essential. You won't hurt the gears, it's the shift levers that you have to be careful with.
