1951 Super C. Original 6v electrical (going to need work) started well for test drive and loading. Wouldn't start to unload. Tires took one too many bounces coming down the road and the right one decided to go from slow leak to fast leak. Otherwise a pretty clean machine... gears shift well (and no noise), brakes a little weak (think they'll get better with more use, the guy I bought it from had taken them apart, cleaned and sanded and reported they were getting stronger with use).

I know there's got to be a better way to secure the front on the trailer than what I did(I think it's short of DOT standard). The rears actually have 10K straps on both axle housings(you can only see one from here). Anybody got a picture of how they're doing it?

"rpirkle1"; very nice. Even has some dirt on the front tires. Tell us more. i.e. history of tractor; reason for selling and you buying; what's been done to the old girl; etc. Thanks for sharing and enjoy it.

Nice Super C. I hope you keep it and get all of the bugs worked out of it. My '52 Super C is flat out my favorite of all of my tractors.

Very nice looking tractor, I also love my 54 SC with fast hitch, very handy little tractor. I use chains, binders and clevises to tie down everything since cutting 2 new straps and having a tractor roaming around on the trailer (they were also over the axle housings, must have been something sharp there I didn't see). I use 2 small clevises on the front in the extra bolt holes that the pedestal bolts onto then run a chain and binder to each front corner of the trailer.

I wouldn't (and have been told not to) use the plate on the pedestal. That can put a lot of strain on the pedestal. I put a 3/4" eye-bolt in the frame where the cultivater, etc bolt on. Just may sure that the shoulder of the eye-bolt tightens down to the frame. On the back I put small clevises on the frame for the drawbar support. I then use 3/8" chains and binders. DOT only requires two chains for not-for-profit hauling but I like to use 4 chains. I tighten them so that the front tires squat. I don't like to see slack in the chains and then have them jerk back tight again. Hard on things.
